Hi, I am wondering if anyone m2f has had a gastric bypass and not lost breast size.  And if so, what was the key?  I had the bypass a week ago and loosing almost 3 lbs a day that I hope will slow down soon.  Only needed to loose 50 lbs to my goal, but it was the meds that I did it for, and so far I'm off of insulin and 5 other pills:)  Just the other night as I think I may hit way below my goal, I'm worried about my breasts shrinking:(  so any hints will help.  I've been off my hormones 3 weeks now, and wonder if I should start soon, if they may help?  Tnx for any suggestions:)

The breasts will most likely shrink from not taking hormones rather than loosing weight. I suggest to get back on the hormones as soon as possible especially if you are loosing weight they are always most important. When you are on the hormones loosing weight has nothing to do with breast tissue loss. Your hormone levels determine breast growth not weight. Also when you loose weight and your body gets smaller it makes the breasts look bigger.

I'd love to get back on the hormones.  My dr begged me to wait another month, but I'll give anot her few days.  I get my new estradiol script in.  He's worried about blood clots, I'm more worried about sanity through the holidays :(  Between the pain and being tired, doesn't help my sanity and dysphoria.  A little e goes a long way:)  Thanks, you are right about the "e"..

Unfortunately, since breasts are around 2/3 fat, plenty of cis women complain that weight loss comes off the boobs first. (For others, it *never* budges from there and it's true that the thinner they get the bigger their bustline looks!) There's no real way to tell, though, besides finding out for yourself... all bodies are different.

The good news is that these things can even change over time; you could start off losing a lot of fat from your breasts only to have your body prioritize putting some back on there once the drastic weight loss phase is over.

I lost some from the breast area, down to an "a" cup, but they seem to stick out more as I shrink:)
I'm so tired, this is my 6th week and its odd that I'm too tired to eat.  If i dont eat, i see no weight loss, but if I eat a few hundred calories a day, I loose a pound?  Very odd..  I'm constant on my supplements, worried about loosing hair and having saggy skin from this.  So far its working:)

I had gastric sleeve in April 2015 and have dropped over 110lbs now.
Ironically, I haven't yet started HRT but my chest is probably the only place there *hasn't* been any noticeable change.
Seeing the weight come off for me was my trigger...the more weight I lost, the more I could see me realistically becoming Megan, the real me.
Such an exciting time!

*hugs*

Yes it does, you feel good about yourself and feel you can actually become the person you always wanted.

I've gone through hell the last couple months since this surgery, but willing to do more, knowing who I will become at the end.  I'm there mentally, but I want to be more physically too!   I want to not wonder what people are thinking when they look at me.  I've mentally blocked it out, I'd just rather blend in..

Wish you the best, jamie
