The voice cracks ...

My voice has been cracking like crazy lately, which is embarrassing as hell. It happens really randomly, but usually when I'm the only one talking and it's the most obvious... :<

I'm getting worried about working - I've got a pretty big photography gig coming up in March and the last thing I want is to have a cracky, teeny voice when I'm speaking with employers and potential future clients... :P

Anyone got any advice or is there anything I can do about this?

Thanks in advance

Experiment with volume and pitch to find a place where cracking is less of a problem. Excitement in you voice will be your biggest problem because you will be all over the scale and bound to pass through the area where your voice cracks. This is the reason why some teen boys talk in a subdued voice when their voice starts to break up. I don't recall it because I had enough problems in my life, but my mother said I was in that stage for a long time, possibly because my voice took such a huge drop and the final voice was nearly useless other than for monotone speaking.

I don't terribly recall this stage, but then my voice didn't drop a ton either. Dena is right though find a comfortable spot in your vocal range where it doesn't happen as often and use that to speak from. Hugs
