WhatIAm

Hey everyone I'm in a bit of a predicament here and was hoping for some advice. I'm a 20 y/o MtF, I just recently started hormones and am still completely in guy mode (and I plan to be for the next 6 months probably while I wait for hormones to do their thing), it's easier for me to do that right now because of school and my living situation.

The problem is, I've been growing out my hair, and it's pretty long (down to my shoulders), but it looks really mangy and bushy. I haven't cut or trimmed it since June so it's in long need of a little work. In order to keep a little sanity in my life, I can't get a female style haircut right now so I was considering going with a longer men's style in order to kill the next 6 months without looking like I'm homeless.

I was thinking something like this: http://img2.timeinc.net/people/i/2014/country/blog/140714/jake-owen-768.jpg

It's a fairly long style and I would only have to cut an inch or two of my hair in order to get that look. I guess my main concern is: does that cut mess up my hair down the road for when I want to cut it to a female style? Or would I be able to switch over fairly easily when the time comes?

That's currently my #1 but if you have any concerns or ideas please let me know! I'm really hoping you all can help me. These next 6 months or so are going to be rough so I just want to make the best of it! Thank you!

Welcome to Susan's Place. That style will mess up your hair badly. If you look carefully the end 4 or 5 inches is heavily feathered meaning all of that will have to go for a full clean cut feminine cut. I am including a link to a site where you can look at more cuts and possibly find one that is a bit cleaner and can be shaped to a feminine cut.
