It isn't the estrogen unless your T levels are naturally low. The blockers stop T production and reduce the sex drive but estrogen in large doses can do the same thing. The problem is estrogen isn't normally safe to administer at levels that high so blockers are used instead.
In my case, I only received estrogen which didn't shut down T production so there were major changes in my life after surgery.
