Hello All  :)

Im Allie, from the UK .. hope that's ok? ... I feel lucky to have found Susan's place after reading through some Topics, I just had to join up and be part of this Community.

I have dressed from very young as I'm sure many have and have always felt female inside. The older I have become the harder it has been to deny myself Who I feel I am and should be. A year ago I seeked help through my Gp and was referred to a Gender Identity Clinic, where I completed psychotherapy and assessments .. Well they told me what I knew .. that I have Gender Dysphoria, now I'm just waiting for my hormone prescription which should be within the Next Month. My only wish was that i had the courage to go earlier in my life rather than try to talk myself out of it and try to pretend Im happy being someone Inside i feel Im not ... Anyway im on track now! Its scary but xciting at the same time .. I hope to be here for a long time and share my Journey with you All and in return hear about all yours :)

The main things to remember in life are Love, Kindness, Understanding and Respect - Always make forward progress

Allie,

Welcome. Great support available here.

Your story is fairly familiar to many of us. Not suggesting "ho, hum, heard it before'. Just I think there are some things in what you have posted that I can relate to and I think many others on this site.

Don't be afraid to ask questions. I still have regrets about realizing so "late". However, the phrase it is never too late is used a lot. I am trying to embrace it. Because, it is never too late to to make your life better.

Wishing you love, acceptance and a smooth journey.

With warmth,

Joanna

Megan.

Hi Allie, and welcome. I'm over in Bedfordshire, and have still got 6 months till my first GIC appointment. I'm in my late thirties, and also wish I might have started on this road sooner, but I guess I just wasn't ready, life can't be rushed!
All the best with your adventure.

Thank you for the welcome Kim & Megan ... What Clinic are you attending? if you don't mind me asking? the Nhs is a long process but free treatment so I guess it balances out... And also Joanna for your Kind words! You are right its Never too late to be You & Happy  :)

I'm on the slooow CX train, but tbh, it suits the timetable in my head. I've got family and young children, so I'm taking tiny steps forwards and seeing how each one feels before I take the next. It might take me years, but if I can bring family and friends along with me, then its worth it.
