Peri and Pedicle DI?

So I've been researching... Since I was probably a B before T and haven't changed much I'm not sure I will qualify for peri (but even if I do it seems like there is a high chance of revision needed if you aren't super small chested). The other confusing thing is apparently some surgeons interchange the words peri-areolar and keyhole even though they are technically two different procedures by definition?

But if I do go with DI so that I won't need a revision has anyone had experience with preserving the pedicle version of DI? Would most surgeons be willing to do this if I request it? I would like to avoid resizing or repositioning nipples or areola if I can because it wouldn't do anything for me and I am hoping it would reduce the risk of infection/loss of nipple or anything like that.

Thanks.

It's not just about size but also about skin quality. Some peri surgeons will do a B cup. It'll depend on what you have to work with though. If you've been binding for a long time, you may not be able to avoid DI.

I can't speak for all surgeons, but mine was very willing to do whatever I wanted. I was right on the border for size between peri and DI. She was willing to do peri with lateral incision extensions to remove more tissue if I wanted. She was willing to make my nipples any size I wanted. I opted for DI, and it was definitely the best decision for me.

I went to Dr. Fischer. Not sure if she is on your list or not.

I mainly worry with a peri that there will be too much skin left because size is not ideal, even if I don't really have any ptosis/sag.

Unfortunately my list of potential surgeons is only within my region because of my insurance being in-network only, but I still have list of a few I like that do both peri and DI.

From what I understand, some surgeons simply don't do the pedicle procedure. I was fortunate to have someone an hour away who preferred it. I didn't want to risk losing an areola; I don't always heal well. I did want to have my nipples resized, but I was willing to put up with them if I could preserve sensation. I still have a lot of dysphoria about my nipples, though. I sometimes wish I'd had them reduced, but I guess that wouldn't have been possible with this procedure.

You don't seem to care about all of that...if you want the pedicle procedure, Steinwald in Chicago used to do it, and there may be others. You would have to ask. And I didn't need a full revision, but I did have some tags fixed six months later under local anesthetic. Piece of cake.

I probably could have pushed for peri but I did DI because I just wanted one procedure and did not want to have to get revisions. I was also in a hurry because binding was unbearable. Looking back after two years I realize maybe peri would have been nice so I would not have scars but I know they will fade with more time. There are things that can be done to scars if someone is impatient. At the time DI was right for me and the scars haven't been a big deal in any situation so far. I had a very easy nipple recovery with no troubles. Only thing they ever did was peel off a layer of skin.
