I'm a new member but long-time lurker on this site. I must say that Susan's Place has been a godsend to me due to the wealth of knowledge and support so generously given by its members.
A little of my background...
I'm a 48yo Australian male-to-female transgender in the early stages of transition; How far I'll go is still an unknown. I've been under the care of several well respected gender therapists on and off for over the last fifteen years and it's certainly been a rollercoaster ride to get to this point. After a lifelong history of denial, distraction and internalised transphobia, I'm finally at the stage where I fully accept that the dysphoria that has plagued me for most of my life will never go away unless I transition at least partially. Consequently, I've been taking a transitional dose of HRT since June 2015, had 10 sessions of laser on the beard, and am growing my hair out. It's time to start living!
I now look forward to finally being an active participant on the forums.
