I started hrt today. One unexpected thing I noticed is that I was kind of...loopy? Like when I came out, I'm having a hard time comparing how I felt this morning. It wasn't bad, but honestly I wasn't expecting anything. It's the first day. I was expecting to take the prescription and go to work, normal day. The only way I can describe it is that my body is kind of confused that what used to be here in abundance is not so much there and there's this new thing that it's not used to. I've been searching around and this seems to be "business as usual", but like I said I wasn't expecting anything for at least a week.

Been keeping my expectations realistic.

One step at a time. You'll get to where you need to be soon enough.
Congratulations on your first day, here's to many more :)

Day one, I would have sworn on a stack of Darwins that I felt some mental changes. I wouldn't have said if they were the hormones taking hold, the placebo effect doing its job, relief at having started the process, or some combination of the above

Placebo or not, I look forward to something. Loopy seems good ;).

After 16 months on HRT I've had a lot of weird emotional feeling and moods
some good and some not so good .. but I can't stop, estrogen is like the elixir of the gods.

This. Estrogen is amazing stuff! I too felt something from day 1 but I put that down to the placebo effect as well as just being super excited to finally be starting this journey.

Enjoy the ride!  :)

Are you on anti-androgens plus estradiol?

I'm only on estradiol, but when I first started I felt a rush as my body got used to it. After a week or so I feel consistent, but I can certainly tell when I'm getting low (I feel 'weird'). I'm not taking anti-androgens.

Yes! I am.

A rush, that makes sense. I just didn't think that would happen. Figured my levels would have to build up. But yeah I'm on both.

Congratulations.

If you are on spironolactone make sure to eat salt and drink 2 to 3 quarts of water a day and avoid caffeine.

Well, it's day three and...yep...going to need to up the water. The salt shouldn't be a problem.

Also I think work was cause severe panic attacks. This never happened before but since I started, the only two times it happened was at work. I think I was really nervous how this would play out there what with my colleagues and clients. Work has started letting us book client appointments for next year and I already have three for next year! Though I did come out to a couple of my colleagues today and they were both super supportive. After that...today's panic attack went away.
