Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone has had a nose job not done by a FFS surgeon and then later had it done, I feel I'm going to have to transition but as married with kids I'm going to have to do it over a longer period of time and go part-time, with the style of wig and some makeup I look not too bad, I don't really have an angular face but I do have a large nose and I would look so much better if it was narrower and shorter and was wondering if I could get this done first and then in several years time when saved up and transitioned and had plenty of time on HRT I could then get FFS and have my brow reduced and at that time I guess nose revision to make it fit in with brow.  Or should I just live with it and wait till I do full FFS?

Hi Amy. After all my experiences with FFS, I would suggest that you break down surgeries anyway. FFS surgeons exploit the fact that we are desperate to become women, and they try to milk as much money as they can from us, by only going half way when they do each procedure. This way when the swelling dissipates and you realise that they were not aggressive enough in their surgery, when you get back in touch with them, you find that you have to pay all over again, as they never admit to any responsibility.
I have said before that you should go to a specialist Rhinoplasty surgeon (Greece is probably the best as they are the 2nd per capita country, in the world for most cosmetic surgeries, and with Greeks it's always their big noses that need fixing!!, I'm Greek, so it's not racist for me to say that), S/Korea for any chin and jaw work (Per capita they have more cosmetic surgery done that anywhere else in the world, and again their main surgery is chin and jaw because that's their main "defect") and a maxillo facial surgeon, of  good repute, for forehead and brow bossing. In short YES, it's a good idea to get your nose done now, but get it done to a finish, and let the surgeon know what your plans are for the future, that way he won't only go just half way.
Much Money, Much Pain, Many Moons.

I had my nose done in April of last year and then had FFS at the end of August.  Much of my nose work was paid for by insurance because of non-cosmetic issues I was having.  I paid extra to have some feminization done.  It worked out for me to have the procedures done at separate times.  Good luck with your decision.
