Hi ladies,

This August I will have lived full time as a woman for a year, so I am wanting to have my surgery shortly afterwards. My insurance at work will cover my surgery from what I understand so far. I am confused on how to find a doctor that can do this surgery and how to start the process. I live in Spokane Washington, about 5 hours from Seattle so I assume the nearest doctor that can do SRS would be in Seattle. Any tips would be wonderful.

Thanks,

Stella

here are some infos on surgeons :

here is a not conclusive list :
http://www.tssurgeryguide.com/SRS-Surgeon-Ratings.html

there are more ... for example Dr Sinclair in California.

One factor might be waiting times.
Dr Brassard has a waiting time for a few months, others more than a year.

How to start:
you might look up some reviews and think about what is important to you ... aftercare etc ...
have a look at the whole package that comes with each surgeon ...
I would not necessarily only look for the closest one ...

maybe have a few possible candidates ...
then contact them, ask for more information and finally a consultation.

Also be aware that only certain doctors will accept insurance, you may be limited to only US doctors.

Would there be anything in particular I should be aware of with a US Doctor? I assume they could do it just like anybody else right?

Not really. Some US doctors don't have a very good reputation; others do. And there's endless "discussion" over the merits of USA vs Thai surgeons.

If you need insurance to cover SRS your Beverly Hills option is limited.  Both doctors really require cash.  At least one accepts American Express.

I went with Dr. Sinclair, good looking results. But it's the performance of the modified factory equipment thats most stunning.
Could be I just had the right combination to make it work well.  Dilation was never an issue past 2 weeks.
I am very convinced the very short period of time between starting HRT and undergoing SRS had something to do with it.  No long wait times with the Beverly Hills Folk.

I know there are others on this forum that underwent SRS with Beverly Hills surgeons.  So what are your results like?  I know you tend to be the extremely discreet type.

Thank you,
Anne

When I was at the stage you are, trying to decide which surgeon to choose for my GRS, the key deciding points were:

1. Wait time (didn't want to wait a year).
2. Whether or not electrolysis was needed first (I didn't want to spend the time or money to have it done).

Those two criteria sent me to Thailand.  No electrolysis needed with the non-penile inversion method, and I got it done with just a 2 month wait.
