Hello, everybody.  I am new to Susan's Place. I am 58 years old. I am a late bloomer which means I am recently awaken to my inner female. I have no idea how I kept this secret from myself so many years. Just recently started HRT month and half ago? I am very, very happy with the decision. I have seen very dramatic changes in my face and body. Next couple of months I will face the challenges of coming out with the family and work. I have already gotten a few stunned stares at my changes already. My biggest concern is my voice.

Welcome to Susan's Place. I came to Susan's place because my original voice was about as low as it could get. I knew how therapy worked as I attempted it about 36 years ago but my voice was so broken, therapy couldn't do the job alone. I had voice surgery last summer and the combination of my surgical voice and trained voice puts me in the feminine range. Feel free to ask me questions about voice or any other topic you might have.

Thank you for the welcome. My only concern about voice surgery is the success rate and risk! My voice is mid range and I will give voice training its full do! I have a music background in playing a musical instrument nothing is impossible but, it is nice to know another fall back option.

Love,
Michelle

I am really 58 (2x29) but, physically well preserved. Was athletic ran track and active early in my life. I walk every day. I am really look a lot younger than my age. I would send  pictures if I knew how. Your not going to believe this I am better looking than I was in high school it shocked me when I saw an old passport photo of me at 19 years old but, a picture is worth a thousand words. My wife is amazed at the physical transformation I used to be 189-204 pounds just 9 months ago before even knowing I was Trans lady. Because I am very discipline I am down to 160 pounds. Since being on HRT and good diet before even before transitioning my transgender therapist orginal said I would possibly need FFS. Since about two weeks ago she was amazed at the changes to face. Now says I don't need this surgery and was delighted in my changes. I believe I lucky because I have always been small boned evidence by my wrist which is already smaller than most CIS females. My wife is starting to get jealous of my face because she has seen my jaw shrink and face feminize which it will continue this trend. Don't get me wrong my wife is 8 years younger and very beautiful.

Hello and welcome, Michelle.

Like you I was a very late bloomer at 58. Apparently we rank in 3% of people who transition at an early age. Most people I told were shocked that I was going to transition at my age. It was just a case of not being able to keep the genie in the bottle any longer. For ages I would ask myself why me and why now but those days have long gone. I am me and I am experiencing a much better and happier me than before.

Feel free to ask any questions as the only foolish question is the one that's not asked.

Love,
Clare

That was supposed to be "3% of people who transition at a late age" not, early.
