Sorry for all the threads, but some days I feel like they r working great and then days like today I feel like nothing has happened. I just feel like they arnt working..... I mean they should be considering I'm on a high dosage of both spironolactone and estradiol since the beginning and I'm 2 months in now.

Ummm seems to me that rapid mood swings on post topics means that they're working. Ha ha ha... Sorry, I had to say it with a set up like that. >:-)

You're probably in between spurts. They're working, sometimes more subtle than we notice. I'm sure that you will feel it kick in hard within a couple weeks following this lull in the action. Changes will always come in peaks and valleys.  ::)
At what point did my life go Looney Tunes? How did it happen? Who's to blame?... Batman, that's who. Batman! It's always been Batman! Ruining my life, spoiling my fun! >:-)

Yep, I was the same way and it really does come down to peaks and valleys. I thought nothing was happening with certain aspects of my body, but after a time it got better.

You're really over thinking this. Stephanie suggested yoga, but you seriously do need to find something else to take your mind off it all. You simply need to get on with your life and stop stressing about it, the HRT will do its thing but it takes many, many months - 12-24 before things are really noticeable. And you're not going to notice much on a day to day basis either. Sure something might hurt, or might not hurt but that is all normal.

Yep, i remember my first 2 / 2.5 month  there was days i thought HRT was doing something then the day after i was depressed looking at the men in the mirror reflection.    Now at 3 month 2week   i just can see him anymore  .  Angélique you were stunning pre-HRT you dont even have to worry , chill on  you will look awesome as hormones keep working on you.

Now, Im not on actual HRT as you think of it, but I am on something that is affecting me...

with that being said... yes, i see what you are saying and Ive never had it explained to me like this before...so here goes

I started tracking my thoughts, feelings, libido and aspects of transition in a journal. I also started comparing that journal to the female monthly hormone cycle which you will find here:
http://hormonehoroscope.com/the-female-hormone-cycle/

now you will see that a female hormone cycle has rises and dips in estrogen, testosterone and progesterone...
my moods, thoughts and feelings follow this nearly to perfection and I notice when T rises, I see and feel more "manly" if you will. When E is up I feel and see myself so feminine that it amazes me. I also notice during the high T phase, my body and face hair is more prominent. I have been wondering about this for a few months and started checking this for the last month and a half. I wonder if what you are describing is actually your natural flow of hormones affecting what you see and feel. I have days when I think Ive completely fell off the wagon and back a step and then BAM, I have a breakthrough where everything moves ahead 3 steps... then I drop back one or two... these occur in the same timing as hormone drops or peaks. Maybe try mapping it and see. I now know whats coming to a degree and Im think after a few months I will know my cycle perfectly and can predict what I will feel like and what days will be good or bad so I can prepare

GIVE IT TIME!

It takes the body 3-4 months before it registers any chemical difference and 6 months before 'dramatically' noticeable changes have occurred. Your body has been operating in its biological state for almost your entire life (for most of us its 16+ years); it has to stop its natural processes, reverse whatever it can, reprogram itself, and then stabilize itself in its new environment. Be patient and stay consistent.

For the first 6-7 months  I was still looking like a guy with long unruly hair. Then it suddenly change and now people see me as a girl even when I still think that I look too manly.

I think you look great already, but I understand how you feel. I think that is normal. It takes a while for your brain to digest the new you.
Even after  4 1/2 years or so, and passing very well in public, but I catch reflexions in the mirror/windows and I cringe somedays and wonder if I'm there yet.  I'm there. :)

Each person encounters different effects with HRT. For some, a small dosage is enough, for others it might be a little more.  More is not always better.

HRT does its job subtly. You'll be fine.
