Thoughts Dr. Brassard vs Dr. McGinn?

Hi everyone,

I've been primarily looking into Dr. McGinn lately, but I'm hearing a lot of good things about Brassard. I'm wondering if anyone has thoughts about the two surgeons. My priorities are pretty much in this order: aesthetics, sensation/function, lubrication, then depth. I don't know if depth matters for me since I'm not into men. Right now my goals are pretty much to just not need t-blockers anymore, not feel uncomfortable with that part of my body, and if possible, be able to have any kind of sexual experience that doesn't make me feel awful.

From what I'm reading, it sounds like Brassard's work is known for being very "tidy". I don't know how much more that is true of him than it is of McGinn or even Bowers, given that it seems like the work of most North American surgeons results in smaller labia minora. I was originally ruling Brassard out because I kept hearing that his work looked almost photoshopped, and I wanted something as natural looking as possible. I'm coming to realize though, that as long as I'm staying on this side of the world, I'm probably looking at similarly tidy results anyway.

How do people feel about the aesthetics and sensation they got from either surgeon? Is one better at creating some degree of lubrication than the other? Is there anything else I should know about either one?

Any help you can provide would be appreciated.

Imo both are not far from each other concerning results.

Brassard imo is a bit more steady, he kind of has streamlined his process for consistency,
included trying of a kind of standard depth of 5,5 in.
A recovery facility for ten days with food and nurses is included, though some report a bit of a barrier because some nurses speak primarily french.

I'd say that my priority list was identical to yours, I went to Brassard, and I was very happy with the results. :)]

I also don't think it looks "Photoshopped"; while I do have small, tucked labia minora, the overall result is quirky and unique as far as I can tell. Which is true of cis women too, so I'm happy with that. (I can find photos of vulvas *similar* to mine, but none identical in every respect.)

I had considered Dr. Brassard but went with Dr. McGinn after a lady at work had some problems that kept her in hospital for an additional 10 days. She wasn't happy with the post-op care either and was fortunate to speak English and French because if you spoke English, she said the nurses and hospital staff treated you like a second class citizen.

As for skill, I would rate both doctors as being very good at what they do. My primary care giver examined me a while ago and she was very impressed. She was impressed that a surgically created vagina could rival a natural one for appearance.

As for results, I like the results Dr. McGinn did with me and I'm a happy camper now. I think that by going to Dr. McGinn was the correct choice for me as I felt completely at ease with her and her staff are very good.

Of course, for every situation there is those who regret using a particular surgeon but I have no complaints.

Ultimately, the choice will be yours to make. An informed decision is the best one.

I spoke only english and was never treated that way when I was at Brassard.  From the hospital all the way to the recovery center.

Thank you for your input. If we all add our experiences it will only help others make a choice. I can only directly relate from a person who actually went there. I have no way of verifying what she told me. The treatment another might receive can be different from person to person.

jfong : Yeah, ditto. I don't doubt this woman's experience, but mine was very different; a couple of the least English-fluent nurses had a little trouble understanding me, but they all tried gamely and treated me just as well as the Francophone Canadians in my little surgery group.
