Hi all,
This is a simple attempt to say thankyou to ALL those on this site, as well as this site itself, who have helped me begin my transition into the woman I know myself to be. It must be noted that I have already made an attempt at this by starting a peremptory thread but a friend here has suggested that I begin another thread that is more expansive and thus more inclusive of those things for which I should show my gratitude for the wisdom that is readily given at Susan's Place by my newfound sisterhood.
I am an Australian who lives in Sydney and I am therefore lucky enough to reside in a city that does not make a huge attempt to be prejudiced against transgender people. Luckily.
There are also some resources available to us in Sydney which are a minimal segment of our culture and society but I'm reasonably sure this is true for most of the world anyway and I'm NOT complaining. Anyway down to business...
It must be remembered that before I found these wonderful forums I was lost and totally reliant on only my gender counseller for info regarding the transition I have to undergo. I am not criticising her, she has been fantastic with her help and even informed me of the existence of this site but she is unfortunately limited by a governmental department's budget etc. By asking the girls here I am actually on my way! AND IT IS A BEAUTIFUL THING TO FEEL!
Using Susan's Place I have discovered the following and more:
-the most effective endocrinologist in Sydney
-the best and most agreeable psychiatrist for my character and personality
-a voice pathologist's availability
-the variable and most agreeable facial feminisation surgeries (and surgeons) for someone at my stage of transitioning
-the physical and mental effects of hormone treatments
AND I've even made friends via this site with whom I share quite a lot of helpful and personal thoughts!
Anyway the major conclusion of all this is that this site is a lovely resource for all transgender girls and guys.
Ciao le mie belle ragazze,
xoxo,
Roxanne.
