Going off T after a Hysterectomy (taking Estrogen instead?)

Hey,

Are there any FtMs around who have gone off T after a hysterectomy? Is there anyone here who's on Estrogen instead?
I'm wondering because after 2+ years on T and careful monitoring with my doctor, I still haven't managed to find a dose/injection frequency/type of T that really works for me. It seems I just can't deal with the sudden high dose after the shot, nor with the drop of my t levels a week before the next injection (and subsequent drop of energy levels/social life/ability to concentrate). I'm also (finally :D) at a stage where I'm confident in my male identity and passing ability, and the changes that were most important for me (voice, facial hair, top surgery) are those that are irreversible anyway.
Because I've had a full hysterectomy (ovaries gone too), I'm wondering if taking Estrogen would work to stay healthy instead of T... Obviously I know about the few changes that might revert, hopefully those wouldn't be too dramatic but I think fat redistribution is really preferable to my anxiety/irritability/lack of appetite issues on T...
Does anyone have any advice on how to mention this idea to doctors? I'm nervous they might think I have regrets or plans to detransition - which is really not the case (not that there is anything wrong with detransitioning at all, it's just not my goal personally, I'm thinking about going off T for more of a medical reason).
Any information or similar stories would be very welcome...
Have a great day :)

Through outdated information, I have been on a low dose for a long time and off all hormones for the last 10 years, I have taken a good look at my body and am not very happy with the changes as to where my body put the fat (all on my gut and nowhere else). I am now under the opinion that some hormones are necessary. With T, I would think a low dose at less than week intervals. I will return to a higher dose of Estrogen but in your case, possibly a low dose of estrogen much like what they would give a woman in menopause might reduce the discomfort you feel and keep the fat from migrating to a less desirable place.

Have you considered a different kind of T? If nothing else, gels/creams deliver an extremely stable dose of T, daily. That is what I would recommend before going off T and especially before going on estrogen.

This^^^^^^^

Gels and creams are fine, just pre clean with rubbing alcohol.

To move forward is to leave behind that which has become dear. It is a call into the wild, into becoming someone currently unknown to us. For most, it is a call too frightening and too challenging to heed. For some, it is a call to be more than we were capable of being, both now and in the future.

Hi,
Thanks a lot for your interesting replies.
I have tried several kinds of T, including gels, which I only used for a couple of months at the very beginning to ease my body into HRT with something light. I didn't really enjoy having to do this everyday but it's true that levels are a lot more stable with gels/creams... I'm totally going to mention this idea to my doctor before I try to go on estrogen!
Thanks a lot for the advice  :)
