Hi,

My name is Dawn. I am 22 years old, male to female, and have been transitioning since 2013, on hormones since January 29, 2014. I've known about this website since I was a teenager, and have browsed it for a fairly long time, but didn't join it until just recently. So this is my first post. I guess the reason that I am here is that I'm looking for advice from other transwomen. I recently found financing for SRS (GRS, I'm not sure what the technically correct term is), and the initial excitement of being able to actually get it has worn off a bit and is now being replaced a bit by fear and uncertainty. Other than that, though, it's just nice to talk with other trans people.

A bit about me - I'm from Iowa, I'm a college student, I'm a fairly accomplished musician, and I like to learn languages (first language is English, second is German, and learning Russian in my spare time).

So yeah, that's me! Nice to meet you all :)

Hello and welcome  :)

Try to relax.
GRS is healthy people going into an operation.
You can prepare by quitting smoking, eating healthy food and having regular exercises.

And really severe complications are rare.
The process has been around for quite some time and people are even still refining it.
And its still classified as cosmetic operation.
There are operations much more invasive.

You could have a look here for a few more hints:

Hi Dawn, welcome to Susan's Place! Love the middle name!  ;D  I'm the Bostonian in the crowd. You have to have one, it's the law.  ;)  See you around the site!

Hugs, Devlyn

Delta Dawn, what's that flower you have on
Could it be a faded rose from days gone by?
And did I hear you say he was a-meeting you here today
To take you to his mansion in the sky?

Hi :) thank you all for the greetings!! I did quit smoking and lost about 65 lbs during transition and all that. Gained some back due to estrogen so working off that a bit here.

Thank you for the links. Still kind of figuring out how to susans lol.

And ooh Boston? :3 I'm a huge Patriots fan.
