"MTV's Faking It has been at the forefront of diversity since it first aired in 2014, even if its premise of two best friends pretending to be lesbians in order to be popular at their super-progressive Austin high school did seem questionable at first. But since the pilot, in which besties Amy and Karma kissed, and Amy began her journey of realizing she was indeed in love with her best friend, Faking It has became a legitimately cutting-edge comedy (with a lot of heart) and with loads of diversity."
