After getting the runaround from the medical community for the last 3 months, I have finally been approved for HRT.I am so excited and scared. I have tried to live the first 60 years of my life as a male and I can honestly say, to put it mildly, things didn't go too well. I even attempted suicide. Since coming out as a trans woman things are slowly starting to look brighter. Of course I still have many ups and downs, but I have to be brave and forge ahead. I am so fortunate to have an awesome gender therapist. I wish you all well with your journey and thank you for being there.

Hi Stephm,

Beginning HRT is a huge step. It's such an empowering feeling to finally be doing something practical towards alleviating something that has caused so much anguish over the course of your life.

For me, the most profound changes that have occurred since starting HRT have been psychological, mainly the reduction of the despair, anxiety and depression due to dysphoria. The despair I felt previously has now been replaced by hope, and there's every likelyhood it will be the same for you.

Congratulations, and get ready to enjoy the ride!

Congrats! I picked up my first prescription of spiro and estrogen today. So thrilled to finally have that first day happen.

Congrats. I will see my therapist today to talk about my blood test. This week I learn I need cataract surgery and I don't know how this will effect my transition.
