Went great, glad I did it :)  The most open I have EVER been with another person, which I guess is what's supposed to happen, but it felt great to finally talk face to face with someone about how I'm feeling, where I hope to go. I was so nervous this morning, but I never had the urge to drive home and blow it off. Kinda on a 'cloud 9' feeling right now and had to share this.

She set me up to take this 'personality test' next week called M.C.M.I (Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory)??? anyone else here ever have to take that test too?? any advice???

Congratulations!!! What a HUGE step to get through! You SHOULD be on Cloud Nine ;)

I agree, there's nothing quite like talking to someone in person, someone who isn't going to judge you and and whom you can finally, FINALLY tell *everything*. It's so... freeing!

When's the next appointment (if I may ask)?

Ya know, I've never taken a single test yet. I feel kinda... left out, lol. I DID call a psych recently to ask him if he'd work with me to get that second letter for SRS, and he mentioned something like your test though - so I'm actually anxious to hear what YOU think of it ;)

I did a little reseach on the Millon Clinical Multiaxial Inventory. I won't tell you too much so it does not bias your results. Basically it finds out about someones psychopathology - which means  mental distress or illness. Takes 20-40 minutes and consists of 175 true or false quesitons.

I had to take some sort of huge psyche test, well over 300 questions. Finished up in 30 minutes and they told me that most take a couple of hours.   ::)  The only thing I was told is that I was relatively well adjusted with just slightly elevated levels of paranoia but my therapist said that she expected that with my particular past. :)

Do not sweat it, just relax and be yourself. Congrats on this huge step.

Congrats!  This is such an important and big step that you've taken.  Just a word of advice - don't leave anything out (as far as telling your therapist your feelings).  I've had sessions where an "Oh, by the way..." thing that I just mentioned would open up a whole new category of things to explore.

Good luck to you!

Carol
