A few members have asked me to review my experience using PAI for my surgeries and why I chose them.

It was a hard decision and I visited Dr Suporn twice and Dr Chettawut, I had my own issues with both of them. With Suporn it was his poor location at Chanbury, his dismal class 3 hospital and his service apartment was not up to my standards. But most if all it took him 6 to 7 hours for the srs and he could not manage to do my ffs under one GA. Being under GA for that time bothered me as I have read alot on the surgery and it should only take 3 hours.   He was reluctant to answer some questions and was not willing to confirm extra services.

Dr Chettawut, again poor location, 7 hours for srs surgery and the real problem was surgery in his clinic. Didn't like the Vertical Suites and could not offer me additional services.

So I went to PAI which my therapist recommended. I met with Dr Preecha who owns the clinic and was the father of modern penile inversion technique and he is the teacher of Dr Suporn and Dr Chettawut. The clinic is modern and looked good, it's in the Thonglor area which is the in area for young wealthy Thais and expats who live in Bangkok. Lots of bars, clubs and restraunts.

Dr Preecha  professed that he was too old to do the SRS but the he had 2 top surgeons and I opted for Dr Sutin. He also recommended that I do all three surgeries at one go ...srs, BA and FFS.  With 3 surgeons and their team. Dr Preecha did my BA. Dr Surachai for ffs, Dr Sutin for srd and of course a great anesthetist.

The hospital they use is 5 star ...Piyavate Hospital, and used by many other srs surgeons. They have a dedicated team of surgeries and 15 nurses.... for srs which included a dedicated team that did all the hair follicle scraping for all srs surgeries. I had 15 nurse assisting.

My ffs included brow shaving, rhinoplasty, facelift and upper lip fat transfer. I had a ba with teardrop shape of 320cc under the muscle. My srs I wanted 6 inches depth and did not want alot of skin in the labia minora.the surgery took 4.5 hours and the ffs took the longe
st

I wanted extra service which was easily accommodated. I had a vip suite in the hospital and a private nurse. The private nurse was my crutch and she really made the experience wonderful.

I did have nausea after the surgery despite the anti nausea medication and my nurse and assistant held my hand all night as I threw up ...or tried to. Once they stopped the morphine drip some 19 hours after the operation my nausea disappeared. More important I had zero pain ...some discomfort but that was it.

I walked after 30 plus hours. I stayed in the hospital for 7 days and I must say the care was superb. I walked around the hospital daily. Over the course of 7 days my breast bandages were removed and saw my new breast ....gorgeous. has my face bandages removed and then my lower bandages removed and the packing taken out ... finally had the catheder removed. ....all painless ....no medication other than Tylenol. Walked out of the hospital feeling wonderful and bought the staff chocolates.

They day after I was picked up by car from my service apartment and was introduced to the dilating technique. My private nurse stayed with me at the apartment.  I remember Jessie saying that I was too active but after two days of dilating at 6 inches and going out for 8 hours I developed a tear.. this made dilating more painful but it was my fault for not following advice.

So the first 2.5 weeks of dilating was quite an ordeal and had constant pain and ache. But now it's all calmed down.

Had my final checkup a few days ago all is well. My ffs was brilliant and Dr Surachai was the surgeon ...little swelling and no bruising.  My breath are fully recovered and the swelling diminishing. The srs was brilliant and looks so real and beautiful.

I am ever so glad to have chosen PAI and I can highly recommend them.

Congratulations on your surgery; I'm happy for you! And it sounds like your accommodations are adequate, and that you are receiving the VIP treatment you expected, so everything seems to be going swimmingly. Best wishes :)

It's nice to hear uplifting stories. Thank you for posting. I'm sure this will be welcomed by others seeking surgery outside the US.

I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005

There are not that many reviews of PAI so it can help people imo *hugs*

Here were a few hints for after SRS ... some people use probiotic pessaries to install a healthy flora ...

just talk it all through with your doc ...
but many people have been helped by them..

Congratulations!  You look great and I am so happy for you.  You really did your research and that homework paid off.  You stuck to your priorities and have successfully negotiated a very big deal.  Wonderful indeed.

Thank you for sharing and thereby adding to our knowledge base around here.

Congratulations on your good experience. I was recommended to your post since I'm looking for info on Dr Preecha and PAI and they're my top choice. I'd still like to hear more from them but I'm pretty sure I'll be going with him. Hugs

Hi There
Is it ok to ask you the complete costs?
I am just at the start of my transition and have started saving.

Hi Kiwi, the cost of the SRS was usd 8,600, the BA ( teardrop ) was usd 6,000 and the FFS was usd 16,500. This includes 7 days in the hospital in a private room. You then need to stay in a service apt near the clinic . ..that's extra- the one across the road they have a discount and .is around usd 65 per day. Thete is free breakfast ... but food is really cheap in the area and great .

Hope this helps

Thank you so much for posting this review. I am strongly leaning in favour of PAI now for my orchiectomy and will be seeing Dr Preecha for a consult in 2 weeks. There is so much content in your post which ticks my own boxes. Each to their own and all that but what you shared about the staff, the hospital, the standard of care all floats my particular boat.

The orchie is stage 1 on the way to GRS, BA, FFS and anything else I can get done  ;D

Fantastic review.

Very pleased it went well for you.

I am terrified of general anaesthetic - I've had a couple and been fine, but the thought of GA keeps me awake in terror. The last time I had one I had to be sedated first, and the final emotion I remember in the anaesthetic room was panic, and fear that it could be the last moment of life I ever lived. Not helped by them having to use a strap to raise the vein. Anyone else or just me?

I have a senior pilot friend with one of the world's leading airlines. He flies hundreds of thousands of miles, does scuba diving, parachuting, drag racing. You name it and he does. But when he had to have a GA last year I had to counsel him for 24 hours beforehand. He was absolutely terrified. So you're not alone ;)
