For my top surgery in the future, most likely at least two years, I am heavily considering her. Does anyone have any experience with her? My psychologist said she has great results however apparently she is not very kind. Also I've never seen any actual pictures of her results.

Also, how much did it cost you? I can't seem to find any information on if any of it is covered or how to get it covered in Australia. Does Medicare help at all? Thanks

While researching SRS I've heard many people say their psychs recommend various surgeons, and its like they have no idea. I'd not put too much weight on what a psych says, not unless they have actually seen a lot of results, which being psychs' they probably have not. Maybe your doctor/endo would have though.

I found this link about Andy Ives in Melbourne a while ago. Perhaps its useful.

A lot of his patients have had top surgery with her as he's a gender specific psychologist. Ironically enough, he also recommended that one from Melbourne. But I was a bit iffy on it because I live in Sydney.

Andrew does very good work on both MtF and FtM but his waiting list is long.

I had top surgery with Dr Hassall and have never found her to be unkind at all...quite the opposite in fact. I don't think it's really fair of your psychologist to say that unless they have met her themselves. I'd say give Dr Hassall a chance -  you might find you actually get along great with her, as I have  ;) . And she does do great work. The old ozguys yahoo group used to have some pictures of her work but unfortunately that's been closed. Try searching on youtube and transbucket.

zboy,

Welcome to the site. I would tend to agree with your statement that it is not fair if they have not met themselves.

I also want to share some links with you. They are mostly welcome information and the rules that govern the site. If you have not had a chance to look through them, please take a moment:
