Chin work

I am scheduled for FFS on 9/21.  This will include:

Brow lift,
Reduction of the supraorbital ridge
Rhinoplasty
Cheek implants

...and possibly

Lip lift
Chin reduction

I'm a bit on the fence for the last two.  I am not unhappy with my mouth, although I realize that shortening the length of the upper lip will help people register me as female subconsciously.  I'm more inclined to get some chin reshaping, but I hear that the results can be very slow to appear due to swelling and often are less of a change than people expected.

Are there any girls here who have had chin work done and liked the result?  How long did it take until you recognized an improvement?

It depends on how the chin work is done. There are surgeons, which are quite conservative. And others are going more with our requirements.

Well for me the swelling took weeks until it was so settled down, that it was fine. But in my case the result was recognizable right after the surgery... At lest I and my wife saw it very well...

I'm 10+ weeks in to chin contouring. I'm not terribly impressed. I'd hoped it was still swollen but what I've read kind of indicates to me that the swelling has pretty much passed. Anyways, I'm not sure I'd bother doing it again.

My surgeon suggested that 3 months minimum to see results, and that the swelling can feel hard like bone for several weeks.

Yes...mine said that too. Call me dubious. It does not feel like swelling. There is no pain there any longer and although there may be some minimal swelling., I don't think what subsides will make that much visual difference. Hope it does, but It sure doesn't feel like it right now. I'm just telling you how I feel based on my experience. Your Surgeon may be more aggressive. I just look at my before and after pics and I'm like...hmmmm? what'd he actually do??

I can see why that is disappointing given the cost.  Still, I'd rather have him do too little than too much.

I had asymmetry after my first jaw work, so against my better judgement, got a chin implant with jaw revision. Well I had the chin implant taken out, I hated it AND literally once the swelling went down from the removal I returned to the same asymmetry. The surgeon didn't "contour" anything. So anyway because of nerves, I've heard the work that can be done in the chin area is limited. Surgeons just don't say that beforehand.
