My date with Satterwhite in SF is in July and I don't get my pre/post op care packet until 1 month prior.
On my phone consult I wasn't able to as him how long I have the post op binder on afterwards, and I did read their FAQ, but I'd rather know from someone who has had surgery from him. I'm getting DI and I'm going to Disneyland about 2 and a half weeks afterwards (Yeah I know, I'll be eating most of the time though so I'll be fine) and I'm not really thrilled about having a sweaty compression vest underneath while in LA heat surrounded by a very very large crowd.

So is it really just 1-2 weeks afterwards or is it as long as 60 days like some are?

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!

I went to Satterwhite last April. Surgery was on a Friday morning, got the binder off at my post-op the following Wednesday afternoon--five days total. Two and a half weeks should be more than enough time.

I didn't have surgery with Satterwhite, but I was told to wear mine for 4 weeks minimum. Longer if I felt any additional need to wear it. I ended up having a lot of skin irritation from it and I never really swelled, so my surgeon let me take it off for good once my drains were out at 1 week post-op. I did put it back on for a few days with a t-shirt underneath because I felt achy.

I imagine if you're feeling fine and not having a lot of swelling, it would be fine to go without it for the time that you're at the park. I would consider taking it with you though, and ultimately I'd defer to whatever your surgeon says.

Thanks much!
I noticed that in the very few videos and posts a lot of them seemed to not have them on after a week, which is nice compared to more than a month! Was there a lot of swelling after taking the binder off?

Ah, okay. That makes a lot of sense, I just knew from a few other people who have been told to keep it on for almost 60 days and I was like what the heck. How could you sit through that for that long (especially in the summer).
Thanks!

It was better than I expected, actually! Left side was unbruised and stayed pretty flat, right side was a bit bruised and puffy--noticeable, but not extreme. Didn't need to bind again. They're both good and even now.
