Do you think the quality of the work of european surgeons like Dussen is the same as Spiegel, then? If it is the same, it makes much more sense to stay in Europe - I do not mind travelling outside if it is worth it, but if there is no gain from it, I prefer to stay in Europe as well.

I wonder, since I saw this now mentioned several times, Which surgeons do not operate in a proper hospital but in some small clinic? I know Factialteam are located in a hospital, you mention Dr Dussen also has that - PAI seems to have that as well - what about the others? Spiegel, Deschamps,Zuchowski, di Maggio, Rossi,.. do they have clinics or hospitals?

In the U.S. - -  there are standards that surgeons disregard at the risk of patients.   I do not remember the exact number, but it is something like any surgery in which the patient is under anesthesia for more than X hours - -  should be done in a hospital.   I think the number is something like 6,  but I do not know for sure.

Since even the best and most dexterous surgeon takes longer than that to do anything other than minor FFS work (an adam's apple reduction, for example) - -  then those will normally be done in a hospital.

Also,  those longer surgeries should be followed up with an overnight stay in the hospital or an equivalent facility, where there is adequate nursing care and emergency care if something happens, like throwing a blood clot.
