Hey everyone, I did a search to see if I could find information on this issue but didn't find anything. If there are earlier threads, please link me.

My question is this: I occasionally experience hot flashes and abdominal pain (which may or may not be related to repro organs) and I'm wondering if anyone else had that experience and if hysto changed that.

I'm sure hormone imbalance is to blame for the hot flashes and also for my acne. Will removing the ovaries make this better or worse? Theoretically the hormonal issues should go away as long as I have the right T levels, correct? I should be more hormonally balanced afterwards?

I'm also interested in any other changes you all experienced after hysto/oopho. Just want to know what to expect.

Thanks!

Also, I get blood work regularly so I'm pretty sure my T levels are spot on.  I've been told that it's pretty common for guys to get these issues after a while on T, and it's part of why I want the hysto asap.

Spro, A complete hysto is probably the best way to go, have all the parts removed so there is no possibility of any of your problems occurring.  You can then be on T as your basic hormone.

I didn't have any hot flashes or pain in the abdomen pre-hysto. I do have night sweats now post-hysto, and I have been told that everything should even out hormonally between 3-6 months.

You should feel completely better 6 months post-hysto at least in terms of hormones. You do need to visit your doctor who prescribes your HRT somewhere around the 3 month post-op mark to have blood work done. My doctor swears that almost everyone goes down in dose, but I have asked on here before and the results were all over the place.

As far as what all to have removed, I would gauge that based on your personal goals and transition goals. Is there a chance you could ever want to have a biological child? Do you feel comfortable being on T for the majority of the rest of your life? Are you planning to have any kind of bottom surgery? Some things to consider.

Yeah I figured these issues would probably go away post surgery. Thanks for the info, I'll make sure to see the doc at 3 months post to check levels. And I'm set on complete hysto now, as my doctor says there's no medical reason to keep the ovaries and I have no personal reasons. Thanks!
