Does anyone have any information on how Georgia doctors or endros are with HRT and transgender people?
I'm looking to see if anyone knows of any good doctors/endros in that area and if you know if they have good results and understanding of ftms? I was going to get HRT in my area but for reasons i don't think that's a very smart idea. Plus when i get hrt i don't want to be alone and in georgia i'll have the support of my best friend and her family.

Yes, there are very good resources in the Atlanta area but not so much in the rest of the state.  So I travel about 210 miles round trip to go to Atlanta.

I'll post a couple of references here that you can start with.  My psychologist is Dr. Ren Massey, http://drrenmassey.com/welcome.html .  He is a trans man and specializes in trans issues.  I also recommend him very highly.

For endocrinologists there are several options.  But the one I use is Intown Primary Care, http://www.intownprimarycare.com .  They deal with lots of trans people and I have had a very good experience there.

Dr. Parry is my primary care provider and while it will be a few months before I go on hrt I can recommend him as well. I did not  know he could help I thought I would have to find a third doctor.

Two good endos in Atlanta are Dr. Sheryl Thacker and Dr. Vin Tangpricha.  Dr. Thacker doesn't take insurance for visits for HRT but is easier (month and a half ) to get an appointment with and has an office in the Old Fourth Ward area.  Dr. Tangpricha literally wrote the book on HRT for transgender people or actually co-wrote it.  However, I understand he now only comes into his office on Fridays and is difficult (several months) to get an appointment with.  His practice is at Emory University.  Neither one of them will accept a patient without a therapist's letter.  Piedmont Avenue Health and Wellness also provides HRT and, from what I can tell, it's on an informed consent basis.  They also provide a lot of other transgender services.

I see Dr. Thacker on Tuesday!!!!

I haven't actually ever met Dr. Parry at the clinic.  The only thing I have been there for is HRT and one of the nurses always handles the visit.  I have been very pleased with the whole experience.
