I started my social transition at the beginning of the year and will, hopefully get referral to GIC in London from my doctor confirmed today.  Does anyone know if there are extra problems that need to be faced when you're type 2 diabetic and taking T?

Testosterone should not really effect insulin levels, however I'd recommend speaking with your doctor about this.

There have been quite a few studies researching the link between testosterone & androgen levels and insulin sensitivity, however there have not been enough enough studies with conclusive evidence to be able to say yes or no to your question.

In our study, there was no improvement of SI, EG, and AIR after 3 months of Testosterone Depot treatment in type 2 diabetes, but we believe that duration and dosage of the androgen therapy might play an important role in improving insulin sensitivity. The mechanisms by which testosterone causes insulin resistance is unknown, and larger studies on androgen treatment in type 2 diabetic patients are necessary.
