I've been on HRT for a year now and I'm happy with the results I got. I wonder though what happens in the second year? Do changes keep happening? Are they significant? My breasts still feel sore all the time, possibly because I was on a low-dosage of HRT for quite a few months, but I'm not sure...

What's everyone's experience been like? Were changes significant in your second year?

I want my cheeks to get puffier, but maybe that has more to do with weight than with anything HRT can give me... =(

Congrats on your first year! From my experience, I am in my second, things continue to change. Many factors affect these changes and everyone has a different experience. For me, my breasts are still developing, alas slowly. My muscle loss seems to have reached its limit. My body hair is much fine and shaving is required in limited areas. Facial hair is somewhat less course and requires electrolysis. I am only about 30 hours in. Dysphoria is way less! I am fully out and living full time as a woman. Not always been easy but better than life as it was. My next appointment with my endo will probably seen an increase in E. My age and genetics are probably having a major influence on rate of changes.

All the Best!

It's more of the same. I have seen a descent amount of growth here so far in this second year. Things are actually more tender than ever. The key is YMMV, but anything is possible. The second year though is easily inside the period of time that you will see changes. Hugs

Congrats on completing the first year.

Things from the first year continue into the 2nd year i.e breast growth, fat distribution and skin softening.

In my first year my breast grew very fast (almost a C cup by the end of year 1). They looked like cones and i found in my second year growth slowed down (cup size), as it took almost a year to reach D cup, but they began to fill out a bit and by the end of the second year they no longer looked like cones, but more like a woman's breasts, not like teenage breasts.

Also in my second year i discovered that my butt looked good in a pair of womens jeans
Enjoying ride the hormones are giving me... finally becoming the woman I always knew I was

On HRT 10 yrs + and saw changes at the 10 yr mark because HRT was changed, from pills to injections. Also added and increased progesterone. Things do slow down eventually though if you remain on the same HRT and changes become more subtle.
I am not a medical doctor, nor a scientist - opinions expressed by me on the subject of HRT are merely based on my own review of some of the scientific literature over the last decade or so, on anecdotal evidence from women in various discussion forums that I have come across, and my personal experience

On HRT since early 2004
Post-op since late 2005
