I am taking Estradiol, and Spiro, but I am also taking calcium, magnesium, zinc, vitamin D3, melatonin, and Potassium. Is it safe to take all of these with hormones? I documented these on my paperwork with the gynecologist, but he didn't say anything. I am also thinking of taking vitamin B12, cranberry, omega 3, and vitamin A. Also should I ask to be put on progesterone?

Thanks,
Sfora

I take most of those too without any problems.  But stop the potassium.  The spiro will cause your body to retain potassium so you do not need a supplement.  If you get too much it could build up in your system and result in some serious health issues.

I track my diet and eat an average of around 1750mg of potassium each day.  That's half the RDA and my blood tests come back perfectly normal, neither low nor high.

Okay. So I will stop taking the potassium vitamins. See for me it's hard to track what I eat. I mean I eat a lot of chinese, Mexican, pizza, chicken, and canned vegetables, as well as romin noodles.

-Zinc may raise testo so you might leave it ...

you might have a look here:

instead of canned foods some fresh fruit from time to time might be a good idea  :)
also for example a pizza tastes really deliscious with additional tomatoe slices, fresh and still cool ... the hot pizza and the cool tomatoe, or salad taste really great ...

concerning bioidentical progesterone it has some anti androgen effects...
and many people said it helped with form of breasts, with a more rounded instead of conical form...
there are also studies showing that for a complete development of some glands the presence of progesterone is necessary...

Bioidentical progesterone has a few effects ... there are non bioidentical forms called progestins which do not have those effects.

What about a multivitamin ?
There might be some from organic sources ...

if on hrt you might try to avoid too much products which contain phytoestrogen.
Too much soy products, or linseed ...
Normal amounts from time to time should not matter but you might avoid larger amounts ...

phytoestrogens compete with estrogen for estrogen receptors, making for a weaker effect...

all in all the body often signals by a craving what is missing (not meaning chocolate :) .... you know what I mean) ...
prefering healthy choices then like fresh fruit etc might be good...
and cutting on high sugar drinks and prefering water or tea might be a good idea ...

some noodles have a bad reputation because of not healthy ingredients .. you might prefer some which have few ingredients and no flavour enhancers ... and for example making spaghetti with a selfmade sauce is easy and really deliscious...

talk it all through with your doc ...

Thanks for all the information. I am looking at drinking V8 drinks. I will cut back on vitamins supplements too. I see my gynaecologist in 3 weeks so I will discuss getting on proestragen. How long does it take for Spiro to kick in? I been in it for 2 days on a low dose.

Well it might take a few days ... you might feel it progressively  :)

You might ask them for bioidentical progesterone ... with the other forms some people reported deep depressions ...

Well there is bioidentical progesterone ...
the brand does not matter ...
one is prometrium for example...
important is bioidentical ... its like a group ...
they have the same effects on receptors in the brain and in breasts like the progesterone cis women have...

there is even some med personnel who do not know this...
so you might talk about it with your doc ...

Sfora.

It depends if its covered.

If its not covered it might be 80 usd a month.

You might also ask around for different prics and offers...
it might be possible there are specials for 90 pills etc ...

concerning bioidentical progesterone it has some anti androgen effects...

This is not supported by data on human beings under normal physiological conditions. Progesterone may, however, help with further breast growth, rounding of breasts, making skin less dry, nails less brittle, increase fat deposition, improve mood/sleep, increase flexibility (?), make you feel warmer. But, being anti-estrogenic, it can also oppose estrogen's breast growth effects and overall feminization. Some do well, apparently, without it. Some do better with it. Perhaps, stick with estrogen awhile and later add progesterone if you see any need for it, based on the above symptoms that progesterone can improve on?

I get the sense that if you eat healthy and don't suffer from malnutrition, multivitamins are not necessary and may do more harm than good due to the excipients inside and perhaps too high mineral/vitamins in body.

On Spiro, drink enough plain water and eat enough REAL salt (not salt substitutes). This will prevent cramps, dehydration, tiredness, dizziness, etc.

Well its complicated reactions not only one single effect.
Increase of SHBG which can bind androgens ... effects on androgen receptors ...
There are endos who successfully treat with estrogen and progesterone, without anti androgens.
To recapture it is what cis women have too.

Effects can be different for different persons.
Thats why its important to watch, and discuss imo.
Many people report a change in breast form, from a conical one to a more rounded and fuller one.
And there are studies showing that for a full developed tissue with all glands the presence of progesterone is necessary.
This all can be discussed with med personnel, who might not have all necessary infomation.
There are many who treat only few transgender clients.
