I look like that guy from a clockwork orange after a fistfight. Sorry, no pictures, but I thought a little levity might be in order.

I remember looking like a raccoon, or, if I got lucky, a victim of domestic abuse. I have a couple pictures from the first time... They're awful. I'm probably too embarrassed to post them here, but... if anyone managed to post something worse than what I've got, I could be persuaded! :D

Oh, I've got one for you.  This is from almost two years ago.  "No such thing as too much eye makeup!" I cringe when I look at it.  This was pre-electrolysis, pre-hormones, pre-everything, just starting to explore being female. Hard to believe how masculine my face looked, even with tons of makeup and a wig.

Your post remind me funny memories xD. Firsts make up try oh my god they were such a fail.

Well dont worry Aname, it will come with practice. If you began electrolysis you may ask advices to the girl there, most of the time they have a base in make up.

Eye make takes practice.. you will get better with time.

Youtube has tons of tutorials and then just practice practice practice.

The first time I attempted eye makeup was scary..

Blend until your hand falls off. That's the only tip I can give you...I spend most of my makeup time blending my makeup constantly together. There should be NO harsh lines and you shouldn't see where the makeup starts and ends.

For eyeshadow, you have start with a color that is almost two shades darker than your skin color put that all over your lid and crease. Then use a darker shade i.e. like a chocolate brown and place that on your crease to give it some contour. Start with two shades and you'll be amazed at how it looks.

Once you master that, then you can start experimenting i.e. smoky eye etch.

Again - BLEND! :D

Hugs,

April

First attempt eye shadow color is so often blue ... Why is that?!  (Was for me, too)

I pretty much only use mascara now, unless going for that totally made-up look. Even then "less is more" !! And don't minimize how much a well sculpted/defined brow adds. Pluck it. Fill it.

Oh, I agree.  I got my eyebrows waxed a few weeks ago and it made such a difference!
