I think the best strategy with fashion is to stick to as low a budget versions as possible. Fashion is pretty much a throw-away industry anyway and it's very easy to make "mistakes" in clothes shopping, too. The good news is that fashion design isn't exactly copyrightable and high prices fashion items are usually immediately copied into low-priced versions. And, of course, thanks to eBay it's often easy to locate second hand items through a precise search. If you run in my social circle you don't hang out with celebrities or people who care about cutting edge fashion anyway.

I've got just one suggestion to add to all the good ones I've seen so far (page 1 on Tapatalk). When you start your wardrobe imagine that you're going on a two week business (if appropriate) and pleasure trip with laundry available. Plan to mix and match.

Did I do this? No. I was invited by a friend with a similar body shape to go through the things she was weeding out of her closet. It left me with a few gaps but basically I can dress appropriately every day. I do need some long jeans. I only have shorts and culottes in denim right now.
April 22, 2015, the day of my first face to face pass in gender neutral clothes and no makeup. It may be months to the next one, but I'm good with that!

Being transgender is just a phase. It hardly ever starts before conception and always ends promptly at death.
