Will Medicare cover my SRS with Dr. McGinn?

First of all, I don't know why I'm even asking at this time. At the time I posted this thread, I haven't yet had FFS and I want that and everything else transition-related to be complete prior to my SRS. Though I do not yet know who will be doing my FFS I do know I would like to have Dr. Christine McGinn to do my SRS at the Papillion Center.

My question is to anyone who have been treated by Dr. McGinn, particularly who have had SRS genital surgery. Do any of you know if or not she accepts Medicare. What I heard was that the government recently lifted the ban on Medicare covering GRS but at that time, or possibly even now and perhaps it may change a few years or so from now, Medicare would only partially cover SRS and it was up to the patient herself to cover the rest or any deductibles.
They say identity theft is a crime. Well, needless to say, a crime has been committed. My identity has been stolen. No, no one knows my social security number or has my credit card. I'm walking around in the wrong body. I'm wearing a costume which I cannot remove... and the only way I can remove that costume, is through surgery

well, if she accepts Medicare you'll probably need a supplemental insurance. The surgeon I'm dealing with will accept Medicare  but to cover all the other costs involved I need a supplemental .

Most surgeons also require you to pay up front and then be reimbursed by the insurance company; the only one I know who does not is Rumer. (Well, and Brassard with the Canadian health system, but that's irrelevant to a US citizen.)

Laura : Yes, but I phrased that deliberately. He ONLY accepts payment from the insurance company directly when it's the Canadian health system. :) If he's going to be involved with a US health insurance company, he too requires payment up front from the patient (who is then reimbursed).
