My letter to my more distant family.

 This is a letter that is going to be sent out to distant family members
I haven't told some of my family i am transgender who will eventually find out if i decide to take T so by choice i decided it's best if i speak up about it and let people who are in my life but more distant know sooner then never. I'm only posting this because i am wanting your opinion on if this sounds like a good letter of something that may need work. I'm scared to death and have never come out on my own without someone else doing it for me I'm very timid when it comes to speaking up.  (I'M SO SCARED i can't even send this my heart is racing and i'm already thinking of the distant possible transphobics and relatives that are going to toss me in the dust or the crazies that are going to want to possibly bash the heck outta me. I can't send it but i have it waiting for me to send im in fear.)

Because to be honest my life is mine and beside simple things i don't think it's needed. But then i realized i can't hide away underneath a old me and act like nothing in my life has changed. Some of you may hardly see me anymore and others may only see me every so often but well i am not actually the "Girl" you've always thought i was. I'm a guy, trapped in a body of a girl when i was younger i always wanted the boy roles in games but they where always "Taken" and so i would go with the only options left.
It probably went unnoticed and heck for a while i believed i was just gay, truth be told that was far from the answer., I just want to live my life 
So i had to say this to do what i need to and move on. I'm asking everyone to please use male pronouns for me and even if you disagree just respect me i don't want to create problems.

It's very well written but sounds a bit too personal to send to people you hardly know or speak too. For my distance relatives I just kept it brief and said something like: I've recently changed my name because I'm actually trans. I've just started T which I'm very excited about. If you have any questions feel free to email me. Your nephew, Elis.
I didn't want it to sound too serious and make a big deal out of it.
Just my opinion. I haven't seen any of my relatives recently so I don't know how they've taken it.

yea, i was attempting that but i suck at letters mind me asking what part seems like to much?

I was lucky in that I had their email addresses so didn't have to send a letter. I think all of it kinda sounds too personal; especially the first part  .  With people you don't really talk too it might seem a bit strange that you're letting this emotional side out. I'm personally not comfortable talking about that kinda thing unless I have too. And the last part about pronouns seems a bit confrontational. Sorry; just my opinion.
I would keep it as brief as possible. If they have any questions they can always email you or look up stuff themselves.

I didn't really say anything to my distant relatives. Just updated my name and made my gender visible on Facebook. A few of them messaged me to get clarification. Like Elis said, if you don't see these people a lot, this doesn't need to be very personal. Whenever I write, I like to use the "what-so what-now what" model to get things across and that is probably the simplest way I've found to get everyone on the same page.

What - I'm writing because I wanted to let you know that I'm transgender.

So What - I'm still the same person I've always been, but I may start to look and sound a little different as I continue my medical transition.

Now What - I'm going by Max, and I'd appreciate it if you used male pronouns when referring to me (he/him/his). Feel free to reply if you have any further questions or if I can clarify anything for you.
