It shouldn't damage the STP, but id be careful. Try not to push the flexrod all the way to the end so the peehole doesn't get rip - maybe shove something to the end as a wedge between the flexrod and the hole so it doesn't get ripped? Try setting it up and testing it out a while before actually having sex and seeing if it seems sturdy enough to be worth it.
