Does anyone have any experience with the VA while trying go on HRT at all?
I am already talking to a therapist and have came out to her, so she is well aware of my situation.

Any information would be grateful!

Thanks everyone!

Welcome to Susan's Place. The VA is spotty on providing transgender and it can be very good to very bad. We have members who have had experience with the VA and I suspect they will be by to post on this thread. I know that Tucson has a program to provide transgender support but I am only guessing that's your location from your screen name.

We issue to all new members the following links so you will best be able to use the web site.

I haven't attempted to go through the VA for HRT because I've had generally terrible interactions with them while trying to work with them well before that. If you've had better experiences with them than I have, then I'd say give it a shot. Otherwise there are enough other options depending on your location.

Because its genetic makeup is irregular, it quickly changes its form due to a variety of causes.

I have been using the VA for my HRT. Its hit or miss for care. For example, my doctors aren't VA endos. They are university of Birmingham and they think they know how to do hormones but in my opinion they're not competent. So I'm still debating if i should stay with them or not.

So it really comes down who is your doctor. Most likely its going to be a university doctor or some sort learning through you. If you have the patience or don't want to pay for anything, then id say use the VA .
