This is late for Father's Day.
There are many of us which have more pain than good times on this day. For one reason or another. If so, this is a small overview of a sermon I preached last Sunday for those whom I know who have no earthly dad and those who wish they had children at home with them. Having said thus here it is.
Many of us do not have a father in this world but it's still a happy Father's Day as we have a Father in Heaven who is awaiting our arrival. He has given us a Father as well. The word of God says the joy of children are their fathers.
Isaiah 9:6
[6] For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counseller, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
We have a Father given by God who has the government upon his shoulders. He is not limited by or subject to the laws and government of man. His word is final and his law of the Spirit of life has made us free from the law of sin and death as he fulfilled it for us.
Our Counseller is both the Prosecuting Attorney and the Defense Attorney at the judgment seat. His counsellers shall damn the wicked and aquit the ones whom are written in the Book of Life. Our Father is that Couseller who shall tell some "Depart from me ye worker of iniquity" and others "Well done thou good and faithful servant."
Our Father is also the Mighty God of Jacob. As written in Genesis of Joseph, our Father is the Shepherd and Stone of Israel. He is the Good Shepherd who gave his life for us and the very stone of stumbling and rock of offense and the salvation on which our house is built, in which our faith is based and established.
Our Father is also the Prince of Peace. He is the Son of the invisible, only wise God. The Son of he who dwells in the praises of Israel and walks upon the wings of the wind. Holy is his name. Our Father is the one who took the law of commandments and nailed them to his cross thereby making peace. He is that peace and he is our peace.
This Father's Day let us take a moment to remember that those who have no earthly father still have a Father with all whom believe in Jesus Christ of Nazareth. They also have a Father who gave this Father unto us. He of whom we pray to in Jesus mighty name. Jehovah, Lord God Almighty.
May everyone have a blessed Father's Day.
