Saw a group of about five boys from my former high school on the train today (well, they were wearing the uniform so I presume they were from my former school!!). That school was (and is) an all boy school. Ugh. Yeah, not fun being trans in that environment... fortunately I wasn't fully cognisant of my gender identity at the time, just that I really hated having to be there just because I was a "boy".

Anyway... they were a bit loud and boisterous and I thought it would be hilarious to say to them: "Hey, I used to go to your school many years ago!" Of course, I didn't actually say that but I imagined their sneering response "yeah, right lady, it's a boys school." I would then reply "I know, but I was still a student there for six years... go figure!"

Would they work it out? I imagined their eyes widening and jaws dropping as their brains put it all together and then blows a few neural fuses... ::) ::) ::) ::)

My other fantasy is to become Australian of The Year so that I am asked to go back to my old school to give an address to the students...  >:-) >:-) >:-) >:-)

If you wish to do it a bit more subtle, ask them if some feature of the school or some tradition is still the same. Make them ask the question how do you know by going the long way around.

I recently applied to be Alumini of my old school - all male Christian Brothers. They rejected me as there was no one of the my name as a student and that they were an all boy school.

I'm still toying with my response >:-)

Too funny -

"Dear Ms Cindy, thank you for your attempt to infiltrate our Old Boys clubs but we have a policy about girls... 'NO GIRLS ALLOWED!!'"

Cindy, how about sending them a copy of your diploma if you still have it with the offending part of the name blocked off (last name only or no name). Bonus points for adding your current name with photoshop.

Just to make it even funnier, my father was founder and head of the parents association for many years, designed the school chapel (he was an architect or a wannabe) and ended up being a Governor of the school.

I'm thinking of calling in when I go to the UK in June!

Cindy, say this is not way to treat the child of your father's name, a person who was so important to the history of this school!

I am seriously thinking of writing a letter and saying much the same, saying that I am also a Prof with a speciality in Cancer Research and happy to address the school!

I just want to frame the rejection letter!

Just tell them that you grew up in the local area and you want to have the opportunity to give back something to your hometown by talking about your work, charity aspects, etc. Then raise the issue of being an "old girl" during the speech.

I know, they already know who you are, but surely they would not want to knock back educational opportunities for their students? Would they??   :eusa_think:

I know this is wrong. But Hell I've never admitted to being nice.

I want to take them to pieces.

I want to run their noses in it.

Sorry Grace for Hijacking your thread, I didn't mean too!

Hi,
You are an all boy school who have always had women as students and couldn't accept it.

You abused me.

Now you are going to hear me roar.

My old, old, school now lets girls in.

I always find it difficult to explain why I was at a boys school, on the bright side I learned to weld, engineering, electrical, wood lathes, metal lathes as well as cooking, sewing and typing.

Thankfully they had just opened the school up to girls and there were about 5 girls there. Rough times though, rough times. Never going to a reunion ever ever ever ever  :P
I will touch a 100 flowers and not pick one.

Ms Grace

Yes, I've never been to a reunion, even before I transitioned. There were some nice guys there, some of them were great friends - a number of them eventually came out as gay many years later, and some teachers were awesome, but I've no interest in "reliving the old days" there.

Been to many school reunions, the bullies who made my life a misery are dead, in jail or live in bus shelters drinking metal polish.

I kind of disaccociated myself from the friends I had made at school. I had always been worried that someone from my past would recognise the old me and s%$t would hit the fan however since then I have come across many of my old friends and not one of them has initially recognised me.
