Hey Just Listen

I go by Mario to those that I can.  I want to write a book about my life. In short, 15 years ago I was on hormones and ready to schedule a masectomy, and then all of a sudden I had given birth to a daughter, married someone I never should have, had 3 more kids trying to be something I never felt I was. This story is long, but interesting and I just need someone to listen that is on the same page. Now I am 40 years old am going to divorce my husband, but he is ok with that, and get a place with my girlfriend who is also divorcing her husband. Life is a trip.

Welcome to Susan's, Mario. Interesting story you tell. I'm a late transitioner (started at 42) and have been a few places I probably wouldn't have chosen to go if I knew then what I know today, but I suppose it's all character forming.

I guess we are somewhat the same except we are going in different directions.  Until I joined Susan's I never realized that there were girls who wanted to change gender too.   I've lead a sheltered life.  Funny how life can be a little mixed up sometimes.

   Thanks for that. Where do you want me to start? I once looked into a ghostwriter, but it was a bit steep for me. It is just a matter of getting it in transcript form. I liked playing with G.I Joe's insted of Barbie, unless she was his wife. My favorite toy still to this day is the Evel Kienevel stunt cycle. Very cool. I had two brothers, but I was the athlete.I grew up on dirt bikes. I always felt I should have been born a boy, and still do. How is it that you get a picture up?

You won't need a ghost writer, "As told in his own words .  .   .    ."  will do just fine.

I repressed for many years also, even kept the truth from myself to a great extent.  I think that this is fairly common, from what I read.

Once you've been around reading the posts of others you'll find your not alone. It's a great realization too. I married 4 times and adopted 5 kids all thinking it would go away. So some of us here have been in the same shoes don't seem to fit place you find yourself in. The people here are good listeners and even can help when you need adivce. I'm glad you dropped by and hope you stay around. I've been wanting to talk with someone wanting to go the other direction.

Welcome to Susan's. We dispense a lot of advice around here but we are good listeners too, or readers as the case may be. Feel free to tell us your life story if you wish. Perhaps we can help you edit your manuscript. Just sit down and start writing. Then go back and rewrite and then rewrite some more and before you know it, voila one life story ready for the press. I'm sure reading a lot of the sroies here you may pick up some inspiration as you discover just how not alone you are. So fix yourself a cup of tea or other relaxing beverage, sit down, take your shoes off and set a spell.

Thanks to everyone that has welcomed me. So many times it is hard to understand decisions we make. I knew at a very early age I should have been a boy. But back then you just tried to do as you thought your were suppose to. Kissing a boy never felt quite right. By the time I was 16 it was kissing the girls that seemed right. Every girl I was ever with and the one now they are all stright. I have never been involved with anyone other then that. After living as a guy for 8 years,something happened that was beyond my control and I ended up going back to being the girl I was born. I did it mostly for my mom who is now passed. I married a guy for her as well.I have 4 great kids but now I just cant keep being something I am not. But I just can't go have a sex change now, what would that do to them? They accept me the way I am. Like a guy. Always have been. I will be divorced soon and be living with the woman I am so in love with soon. She is staying with us now anyway because her soon to be ex-husband has no reality skills and is a phyco. But it is hard with her kids. Her daughter is best friends with my daughter Mariah so she is here every other week but she does not see her son too much since the dad plays mind games. Anyway if I could go back and start this whole thing over, I would go through with surgery. If I did not have kids, I would do it now, even this 19 years later. We can never change what is on the inside. Can some one please tell me how to upload a picture? I have tried but it will not load. Thanks.

I can't answer how the up loading works and sometimes doesn't but Steph will no dought post a link here as soon as she sees your request on it. She usually does or someone does.

You have been very sharing of your feeling and convay concern for those important sginificant other people in your life. I must say this. Never take for granted or under estimate their view of things. Have you asked them what or how they would feel if you had surgery. They probably are more aware of the hurting you have gone through living as someone you really aren't more than you know. Their love for you would probably want you doing what ever it takes to make you happy. Most children are so grateful for being brought in to this world and all the trimmings we as parents put on it, that they want to be able to give back. If it 's the money side of having kids that all resourses are going out to care for them that's different. I understand that but maybe someday in the future you can work it in.
Leah is now just about to turn 59 and will be having sergery in another year or so. It could happen that it maybe in the cards latter down the road for you. If you really want it.

Please extend an invitation to you girl freind to come join us here too. As well as your Children that are old enough. The SO's don't have very many that come and share here, but it is a place for us too.
