Okay I am chuffed at the moment, after the gatekeeping appointment I thought I would have to wait ages for things to get moving, but today I had a letter through, well two letters. One was a copy of a letter the gender clinic sent to the Gatekeeper I saw asking for a detailed psychiatric history, and that they accept the referral etc

The next letter, was a very recent one which was a copy of the reply the gatekeeper sent and it was amazing  ;D

Here is what it said, not including personal details :

'' I am writing to refer the above named to you for assessment and ongoing treatment if clinically indicated as we have now funding authorisation from the Welsh Health Specialised Services Committee (WHSCC)

<Name here> is a transwoman. I fully support her in her request to commence the process of transitioning into the female gender role and eventually undergo gender reassignment surgery.

I have enclosed further information for your attention.

The GP has been informed by the WHSSC of the blood tests to be taken and that the results are avaliable for her to take to her first appointment. We also understand the waiting time to first consultation could be quite length and that the blood tests should only be arranged once the patient has been advised of their appointment date.''

That was the end of the letter, I thought it was amazing and very supportive, how factually and certainly she said that <Insert name here> is a transwoman. :D

The lists of blood tests that were requested are

LH-FSH
Testosterone
Prolactin
SHBG
Di-hydro testosterone
LFT's
PSA
Lipid Profile

Hopefully I can get those sorted out soon, problem is my blood is hard to get, so I am in for some fun there D: But yeah I feel absolutely amazing at the moment, I was in a slump to be honest and this news makes me feel alive  ;D ;D ;D

Way to go JW!  Your persistence did pay off.  Congratulations and now you can start zapping those pubic hairs ;)  (assuming they still exist) :D
