Hi all,
Just got home last night from visiting my Parents over the weekend. It was an un-planned visit. My Dad has been in the ICU since Thu due to possible Sepsis. We visited him Friday and Saturday, but do not want to get into those details. All I will say he is on a Breathing Tube ect.
Saturday Night they had to transport him to a different hospital because the one he was at has no "Weekend" Special Physicians (Neurologists in this case). Sad that his town does not have that so he had to wait to be transported 2 hrs away that night at 11:45PM.
They needed to get a Spinal Tap to see what the problem was. After my Wife and I finally got home last night, my Mom texted us and told us my Dad has Brain Meningitis.
We texted back and forth and a concern washed over me and I went onto the net ect to get answers.
Meningitis is contagious.
My Mom said his Nurse says we need to get checked. We were in contact with him briefly before we found out he had it. Casual Skin contact is all I did, even rinsed my hands in the bathroom there, yet certain definitions state that it's not really spread thru casual contact since the organism can't live out in the air long at all.
Should I worry?
Also...After his Doctor (Neurologist) went over his condition, he deemed my Dad NOT serious enough to fly by Chopper and recommended an Ambulance take him, 2 hrs away. Is that a helpful sign?
