"Soon, any kind of physical, sexual, emotional and even economical abuse of a transgender person could become a crime punishable with imprisonment of up to two years. This is according to the draft proposal on the 'Rights of Transgender Persons Bill, 2016' by the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment."

I was just about to say that it's amazing that India is ahead of the US.

it wonderful that trans people in India are getting protection but kind of sad that a law is needed to prevent people form forcibly stripping someone in public and dragging them down the street. you would think people could just be decent human beings and no law would be needed.
