Top Surgery Pay Schedule?

So, in your experience, how did the pay schedule work for top surgery? Was it all up front? Or all but hospital/anesthesia costs before the Big Day?

It was all up front but there was a cap on my credit card. Each day they would take out $1000 for like a week. You are better off having all of the money beforehand with extra for piece of mind.

I paid $100 at the time of the consult, then 10% of the total cost in order to schedule, so for me that was $850. The rest was due 2 weeks before the surgery date. I paid it all about a month after my consult after the credit card I wanted to use came back from having the name updated.

I paid privately, not through insurance, so that may impact it. There were no hospital or anesthesia fees per se, they were all lumped into the bill from the surgeon's office and the procedure was performed in her own operating room.

I paid a deposit to book my surgery date, I think it was 20% of the total cost.  The remainder was due one week before the procedure.  I paid out of pocket, but the time between my consult and the actual surgery was about 7 months (due to my own scheduling needs for work) so I had even more time to save up the cash.

By the way...It was the best investment I have ever made.  No amount of money spent on anything else in my life has given me such satisfaction and inner peace.
