I feel like this is a strange question but has any ftm ever had long hair chopped it off and still wake up or be doing something during the day and reach up to freak out thinking its longer and then realize its not there that you cut it long ago? It's like a phantom feeling with a limb accept it isn't a limb it's just in strange....and it happens to me
and i wanna know if it happens to others? just curious i guess to be honest.

I've had long hair cut off a couple of times and it happened, it's just because you get so used to feeling it there. I kept trying to flick my fringe out of my eyes out of habit. It's like when you take sunglasses off and can still feel them on your face haha

It stops after a while

It happened to me when I went from waist length to shoulder length then again when I went to super short.
It also happened to my husband when he started shaving his head.

I wore my hair super short when I first came out, I would keep trying to twirl hair around finger even though it was too short. I have never freaked out about it but my hair was never very long. but I did have a similar feeling about my weight, I lost a lot of weight and for some reason in my head i'm still 200lbs so sometimes when I look in the mirror I get shocked as to why i'm small.

I mean I don't experience ghost hair, but tbh I have dreams a lot where I have long hair again, and for some reason obstacles keep appearing to keep me from getting my first haircut haha.

I had long hair until I was 19 but this has never happened to me far as I can remember. I get that odd feeling for a day or two after cutting it short where it feels strange and absent, but also feels good. It hasn't been short for years now again though, it's almost shoulder length. I discovered that as a female I hated having long hair, I guess I wanted to distance myself from looking typically female by cutting it short; as a male I like having it longer because I don't feel the feminine association any more.

I've never dreamed about my hair though, or generally thought about it that much. Another reason I didn't cut it short as a kid, it would have meant worrying about styling and cutting it instead of just tying it up and forgetting about it.
