Hi I am new to this site and I live in the Lakeland, FL area. I have no insurance at the moment, and work part time around 25 hours a week. I am trying to find a doctor who can prescribe the recommended hormones for transition. I have done it before on my own a few years back but stopped because I did not want to jeopardize my health and want a successful transition. I've been to several local doctors and most either laughed at me or told me they don't do that. I even had one tell me I was being selfish and should just deal with being male. I am lost and have nowhere else to look. I've tried the internet and even emailed a few places that claimed they treat people with gender issues only to never get a response back from them. Can anyone here help me please? I am at the end of my wits with searching for care.

Try Dr Dimarco in Clearwater. He is very understanding and sympathetic towards transgender patients.

I recommend him from personal experience.

You may find the medical community is generally more sympathetic towards trans issues in the Tampa Bay area.
