So my semester comes to an end on Monday. From there I'm mostly working on getting out of the place I'm living in and moving a bit closer to where I go to school. With that also comes the task of getting started with a therapist. The problem is that UPMC (my insurance provider) wont cover any local therapist who appears to be knowledgeable about working with transgender patients or one that will work with me via Skype or Google Hangouts. I'm left with either working on moving again, this time to Pittsburgh to see someone at the Persad centre, or having to take a copy of the WPATH SOC (which I have on my hard drive) with me when going to a session with a local therapist. I suppose there are no gender therapists in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania willing to work "pro bono" over Skype, but then again I guess altruism doesn't put food on the table. I'm thinking I may try and take my chances and hope that I can make some progress with someone locally, but I'm not optimistic about my chances. I'm still building up my female wardrobe and would like to have that ready when I make my first appointment but I'm wondering if I should start building up a cash reserve to start paying for video based gender therapy sessions. What do you think I should do?

Sorry if this post is a bit long. I'll try and work on that.

Lol imo its not too long.

Here are some online therapists :

And you might ask at plannedparenthood or a lgbt center for counseling.

There might also be a counselor at college/uni willing to work with you.
