Hey bunnygirl,

I had ba with Greechart about 10 years ago and i still very happy with my results and the care i got a yanhee was good.I am looking at a redo now because implants needs to be replaced every 10 to 15 years and i might go to Dr Don Revis in Fort Lauderdale because he of  his technique of internal suteres to keep the implants in the right place, so you might look into him to he has some experiance with transgender woman.

Hi sh1982 :)

I might go to Greechart for Tracheal Shave but unfortunately they don't use the implant I want...
Don has so many positive reviews mostly on BA on https://www.realself.com/find/Florida/Fort-Lauderdale/Plastic-Surgeon/Donald-Revis
But is he experienced with MTF BA? I will ask him if he uses INSPIRA.

EDIT: already got a reply from Don! Just sent in my photos for review. apparently he performs quite a few BAs on MTF patients. He has INSPIRA but says that Mentor is a better product...

haha I was actually reading that thread  ;D  I was set on INSPIRA but now need to do research on Mentor..

So Don wants to insert implants under the muscle via perialeolar incision to minimize visible scarring. I'm a bit worried about losing sensitivity though..  and he quoted $9,090 including all of pre- and postoperative visits. Not that I'm planning on visiting him often because I live 5,000miles away lol

Hey bunny girl. I had my implants done by Dr. Lee about 8 months ago. I have 500 cc medium profile plus Mentor implants. Dr Lee did a fantastic job for me.  I believe that Dr. Lee only uses Mentor implants.

You can see how they look here.  https://www.susans.org/forums/index.php/topic,208474.msg1848124.html#msg1848124

Good luck on your search.

Jessie, thanks for the photo! They look great  ;)  Did he insert them via periareolar incision under the muscle? Also if you don't mind, how much did they cost?

They were inserted via a periareolar incision and are under the muscle. I had them done as part of a package of proceedures (FFS and cosmetic) so I'm not sure what the price actually was. I was quoted about $9,000 but that was before discounts. I was told that the implants alone are about $5,000.  They look and feel great and I have no regrets getting them.

My BA was done by Dr Stephen Gordon in Las Vegas January 2015.  He is wonderful. BA surgeons in LV are as common as 7/11's. Think about it. Every card dealer, cocktail waitress, etc needs a little help.

He was recommended to my by another T-girl.  I asked him the usual questions. How long have you been doing these, how many do you do, are you Board Certified, where do you do them (his own surgery center) and how many "girls like me" have you done. I liked all his answers.  I work in health care and have a pretty good DR BS meter.

Then I asked him what he would do different for me vs a GG.

He said he would use a anatomical shape  ribbed implant with cohesive silicone gel. You need the anatomical shape because you don't have natural female breasts. He likes the ribbed because they bond better with the pocket he makes  for them. Your nipples are further apart than a GG your size so he wants the implant to line up properly with the nipples but still give some cleavage and have a natural "hang". You should have a good idea what you  want before going there.

He said he would place the implant above the muscle. If he puts the implant below the muscle for  a GG it is similar to putting it under a blanket.  But on a TG it is like putting the implant under a comforter, because the muscle is much thicker and more developed. He said he would put the implant exactly where he wants it and he uses a "floor stitch" to hold it while healing. The floor stitch goes right to the rib cage and hurts the most. But the pocket heals before the stitch dissolves (about 3-4 weeks)  He uses an imfammary incision.

He takes very elaborate measurements of your chest. He draws lines and things on you with a washable magic marker. He does several complicated calculations to achieve your desired outcome. Then he does it all over again and  takes pictures of your chest with the magic marker on  it.  He puts those pictures on the big screen over the operating table so he can put the implant exactly where he  (and you) want it. He sends you home in a Playtex bra one size too big, not a binder. He (and several other docs) will advise you to wear a bra all the time.

My implants are Sientra 700 cc.  Six months and you can hardly see the incision scars. One year and the floor stitch scars are hardly visible. They settle a little after one year but that makes them look more natural. I think mine are beautiful, but I don't go around topless to get opinions.

You can find implant measurements on line for Natrell and Sientra and others.  For me the Natrell were more narrow and higher for the similar size.  The Sientra are wider at the base and not quite as high.  That worked very well for me and I think make them look more natural.

If you have an excuse to visit Vegas save $40 out of your gambling budget and go see Dr G.  He will treat you better than any of the slot machines.

I see, thanks! I wonder how Thai surgeons do it for around $5,000 using the same implants...since they are importing them from Europe/US.

That's good to know that he's experienced with trans! So far all others recommended me a round shape...
Also, if you place them over the muscle, some people say it's likely that rippling may be visible... I don't know if I have a thick chest muscle  :'(

I've decided to go with doctors who use both Natrelle INSPIRA and Mentor Memory Gel.

Well you might ask them if its the same.

But its the same with cars. The same car in some countries wondrously only costs almost half.

Oh thanks. Regardless I wouldn't be able to trust surgeons who don't respond to pre-op questions in a timely fashion. What if you need aftercare? They probably ignore you. Alter, Mosser, Lee, Revis (fastest response, even on Saturday), Emerson as well as Thais were quick though. And many surgeons use Natrelle, but the market penetration of INSPIRA implants seems still limited..

Well, as Princess Joules mentioned in her video, the products they use are the same (Mentor, Allergan, etc.) in Thailand. She even kept the boxes lol

It's funny because luxury cars are way more expensive in Thailand, but implants are cheaper

Implants are also more expensive in Thailand but doctor's fees and hospital fees are cheaper so in total the surgery is way cheaper.

They are ? Usually markets are adapted to the income of people. Luxury stuff is an extra category.
Everyday cars and articles should be way cheaper too ...

That doesn't explain it because someone mentioned the implants alone would cost $5,000. Some surgeons in Thailand offer BA for less than the U.S. cost of implants.

If surgeons are experienced and highly skilled, going to Thailand for BA seems to be a good option, like a vacation!

U.S.
Harrison Lee (over a phone consultation only, but some girls report it was around $9K)

Eric Emerson (?)
Scott Mosser (over a phone consultation only, requires a doctor's letter)
Joel Beck (no reply)
Timothy Alexander (waiting for estimate)
Stephen Gordon (no reply)
Don Revis (seems very reliable, tho fairly expensive $9,000+, he also uses primarily Mentor implants)
Canada
Brassard (usually uses Mentor but sometimes INSPIRA, $8,560, believe it's in CAD)
Europe
Maarten Doornaert  (no reply)

Do most US surgeons ask for one written referral from a qualified mental health professional for MTF BA? So far Mosser looks like one of them.

I did not have to have a letter for my BA / FFS last August.  I know that my doctor was in contact with my therapist but if there was a letter involved I never saw it.

I see. I suppose not everyone requests a letter then. In your case the requirement might have been satisfied because Lee contacted your therapist directly.

U.S.
Harrison Lee (over a phone consultation only, but some girls report it was around $9K)

Eric Emerson (?)
Scott Mosser (over a phone consultation only, requires a doctor's letter)
Joel Beck (no reply)
