I am planning on once I'm older like sometime in like mid-20's to get a Phalloplasty so I pretty much have to wait to to worry,Thankfully. But In a few years I'm going to get a top or a hysterectomy surgery. I just don't know which I should do first and what age would be the best to do it. Also if you've had both. Which was the most painful? Should I get the most painful out of the way and save the best for last or the other way around? Also I understand in every surgical procedures there's always a chance of vomiting but your going to be nauseated because of the anesthesia, But would I vomit after the surgery? Sorry I have a fear of vomiting. Thank You!  :)

I can answer a few of the questions but I will move this thread where it will get more responses. Surgery is normally not allowed until you are 18 though there are exceptions. The reason is you need to be an adult before making this type of decision. The order and which surgeries will be up to you and what ever feels most comfortable to you.

As for anesthesia, for injectable drugs the risk of nausea is very low but they still require you to not take anything by mouth after midnight and you last meal will be even longer. If you vomit after surgery, there won't be much to come up. My first two surgeries were with ether may years ago and don't believe that part about a pleasant smelling gas. Nausea was very common with it but they haven't used it regularly in about 50 years. That is the reason they are now very careful about having surgery on an empty stomach.

It is possible to have issues with some of the pain medication as morphine can cause nausea but if a pain medication is unpleasant to you, you have the right to refuse it. After my surgery, I refused all pain medication because I could live with the pain but I hated the fogged mind they caused.

Neither was painful to me. I was mildly sore for the first few days after top surgery, but that went away very quickly. I had no pain or soreness whatsoever from my hysterectomy. I had top surgery at 25 and a hysterectomy at 26, phalloplasty will be this year at 27.

I don't think there is a "best" age to get either. It's all about when you're ready for them and you've done enough research to know what's right for you. I got top surgery first because I had been binding for several years and was tired of it. I had my hysterectomy when I did because I wanted to schedule my phalloplasty and I had to have a hysterectomy three months in advance of that.

One thing you should keep in mind is if you are having insurance cover these procedures, they may want you to do things a certain way and in a certain order. It is best to ask them what their requirements and procedures are for gender-related surgeries if you're planning to have them foot the majority of the bill.

With any surgical procedure, there is a risk of nausea and vomiting. It all depends how you react to the anesthesia. If you've had any kind of surgery before, that would be a good indicator of how you'll respond. I was very nauseous after top surgery and needed an extra dose of anti-nausea medication to feel good enough to get up and go home. I had no nausea after my hysterectomy, but I had mentioned to the anesthesiologist that I was prone to nausea and she said she would take care of it.
