Hey everyone :)
Quick question, what are your views on epilator vs waxing? Witch one is better do you think.
What about ingrown hairs because ive read some HORROR stories on the internet about epilators :(
Pain does not matter to me, so thats not really a factor.
I ask this because ive been waxing in the last few days and my hair is breaking instead of pulling out from the root any ideas?
Also what should I be putting on my legs after waxing? Ive been told by a few friends I should put somthing on my legs, but I have not idea what and im to embarssed to ask haha.

Hope everyone is doing great!

Waxing all the way..... Its quick and loads less pain.

Also its nice if you can afford it to have someone do it for you at a salon

I tried waxing my legs twice, and chest once. I found it to be a lot more painful than the epilator used regularly, and messy.
If any hair has grown to a decent length, say 10mm/ half inch, I run an electric clipper over them with a guard to leave them about 1/8 th inch/ 3mm or so. It's less painful than if they are long. Also helps if you epilate regularly, as the hairs grow back at different rates.
I use a moisturiser or aloe vera gel afterwards.  Urea cream can apparently help prevent  ingrown hairs, by softening the skin, or so it's claimed.

I've tried both, and neither works for me.  I gave the epilator a real college try, but when my electrologist told me that long-term use of an epilator eventually leaves scars around the hair follicles (they call them "EpiLady scars"), and that both epilator and waxing carry a much higher risk of ingrowns, I gave up on both, and now I just shave.  I tried depilatories, but my hair is so thick and coarse, I either end up with burns, or it doesn't do the job.  Shaving it is for me.  Now that I'm on HRT, I'm hoping it won't be too long before my body hair gets finer and easier to deal with.  And maybe I'll eventually get it lasered...

My girlfriend has had very good luck with sugar waxing. We waxed a bit of her forearm just to show her that it doesn't hurt that much and the hair grew back noticeably less. It's cheap to make, you can pull the hairs out at a shorter length, and it's tasty too if you make too much and wanna eat it haha!

I consider myself fortunate to be in cosmetology/esthiology school and classmates and I wax each other daily!  I love waxing.  It has to be done right or you get breakage.  Ingrown hairs are common if you don't exfoliate 2 times a week after hair removal..  Exfoliate exfoliate exfoliate girls!!!  Just no more than 3 times a week or you will start causing damage to your skin!

While my body hair as thinned and lightened quite a bit I'm fairly hairy and as far as my chest/abs go I would choose waxing over epilating any day.  The pain of waxing is not even comparative, not to mention the time it takes to epilate and the nasty ingrown hairs.  I can't always afford to have it done though in which case I turn to the epilater just for my chest.  I find doing my belly nearly unbearable.

As far as my legs go I epilate.  It's not nearly as painful as doing my chest/abs, especially if I keep up with it.  If I had someone to wax them for me I would, but i don't and paying to have them done doesn't seem reasonable at this point of time, especially when epilating is so easy and quick

I do neither on a regular basis

I still shave my legs, arms, lady areas and pits with a razor. I shave every second day in the summer and every 3rd day in the winter.. I love my legs to have the silky smooth feeling and the feeling of the stubble on my legs.

I use moisturizer after shaving.

I do sometimes get my legs waxed professionally

I epilate at the moment, but I'm generally unhappy with it so I might go down the DIY route with sugaring (or get waxed at a salon if I ever get the income).

I currently epilate. I think both end in similar results, needing to exfoliate often to avoid ingrown hairs.
