"The Governor of North Carolina appears reluctant to do anything other than defend his state's widely condemned anti-LGBT law, despite a deadline from the US Justice Department to have it repealed.

North Carolina Governor Pat McCrory signed HB2 into law last month. It rolled back any local laws protecting LGBT people and banned trans people from using a gender-appropriate bathroom. "

Instead in an election year, with his own polls running against him and the danger of an actual Democrat being elected as Governor in that state, he doubles down on bigotry and will try and take the federal government to court. This will of course be a likely loss but, if can whip up more fear of "bathroom predators", it could mean more money and support for him.

Meanwhile the NC taxpayers foot the bill and their schools are about to lose federal funding.

Apparently North Carolina wants to discriminate so badly that they have now sued the Justice department over HB2 instead of agreeing to roll it back.

Meanwhile, Attorney General Loretta Lynch plans to announce "enforcement actions" against North Carolina in just a few hours.

North Carolina is doubling down on bigotry and they want a showdown at O.K. corral with the federal government. In doing so governor Pat McCrory is playing a high stakes brinkmanship game with the finances of North Carolina.

I believe that the federal government is getting tired of the endless and growing state legislative action on this topic and they plan to make an example out of North Carolina to put an end to it.

The bottom line is that if North Carolina insists on revisiting 1950 then they are going to have to do it without accepting money from the Federal Government. North Carolina wants it both ways and thats not gonna happen.

Eva, your post reminded me of this one pop song... "I Want It That Way" by the Backstreet Boys.
