Hi, my name is Skylar! I'm an 18 year old gay trans boy with a passion for bad art and comedy.
(I already kind of introduced myself & got the intro links in the Young Trans thread, buuut then I found this board so anyways...)
I publicly came out a little over a year ago and although my mom and some ex-friends didn't take to well to the announcement at first, pretty much everyone who matters has gotten used to it by now. We've got a really great trans and nb community at my high school- about 25 kids have come out over the past two years- so this year we got our first gender neutral bathrooms, and I was even able to compete in an all-male charity pageant.
It's been a crazy few years, going from occasional crossdressing cosplay, to a very masculine transition, to where I am right now- a loud, glittery, happy, gay mess.
I'm in the process of legally changing my name, and my first HRT appointment is this July 1st. In September, I'm moving from this small, rural Oregon town to NYC to study animation. I'm so pumped to finally be somewhere with so much access to art, music, and culture.
I still don't know how to IM people on here (or if that's even an option??), but I am honestly just looking for people to talk to and swap advice with because I've been lurking here for years and I'm tired of being the oldest trans person I know.
SO YEAH HMU
